Be Careful and Be Smart
We recently receive a copy of this email to residents of an Uptown condo complex.
I spoke with one of the community officers and his advice is to be smart and don't leave anything of value in your vehicle. And certainly don't leave it in plain site. He also emphasized the importance of shredding all bills and personal documents prior to putting these in the trash. It may sound simple but following this advice can keep you from being a victim of crime.
1 - Do not leave anything of value in your car, particularly do not leave anything valuable visible in your car. A car window was smashed and gps stolen in our parking lot recently, and this happens often on the streets near by.
2 - Shred all personal documents before throwing them in the condo trash cans. People are definitely going through our trash, whether they are looking for food or credit card numbers or both I do not know.
