(3) Of the (4) Armed Robberies in Third Ward were related to food deliveries. The other incident was a car jacking where a young black male was surprised by two suspects when he parked his car. One of the suspects brandished a handgun.

Fourth Ward

15 Larcenies from Auto
5 Vandalisms
3 Other Larcenies

First Ward

15 Larcenies from Auto
14 Non-Aggravated assaults
6 Auto thefts
6 Hit and Run
6 Other Larcenies
2 Purse snatchings
1 Armed Robbery

The Non-Aggravated assaults were generated around the Entertainment/Bar district. (2) Purse snatchings occurred. 1 victim was a female walking alone at 0230 in the morning in the area of 9th and Caldwell St, when she was approached by two black males and asked to use her cell phone. When she told them she didn’t have one, one of the subjects snatched her purse and both ran off. The other occurred after midnight when a woman was again walking alone and had her purse snatched. Officers were able to react quickly due to witness information and apprehend the suspect in this case. (1) Armed robbery occurred in the 500 block of N. Brevard St. A white male victim was walking home from the Alley Cat bar at 0230 in the morning and was robbed at gunpoint after a verbal altercation with about 5 young black male suspects.

Please do not walk home alone at 0230 by yourself especially if you had been drinking. You are making yourself an easy target for those out there looking to do harm. The common theme we have noticed is that our victims of Armed Robberies and Purse snatchings are usually by themselves late at night/early morning after the clubs close.

Be smart think Safety at all times.
